Club rides
Club ridesThe Chequers Racers have regular rides at least twice a week, attended by cyclists of abilities. We try to ride as a group where we can or we simply break and meet up at major junctions to let those who are off pace catch up. We are not professional cyclists but we like to ride and enjoy our environment whilst occasionally being challenged by a hill or two (or three, or four depending on who leads the ride!).
There are regular rides mid week (usually evening rides) and weekend rides; riders are usually notified by email during the week. Midweek evening rides tend to be around 20 miles around quiet country lanes; please bring some lights!!!! Weekends can be anything from 20 to 40 miles on all types of roads but we mostly stick to country lanes where we can. |
All rides start at our headquarters, The Chequers Pub in Laddingford, unless notified otherwise.
Please note; whilst most if not all our riders have the necessary equipment to deal with most eventualities it is your responsibility to ensure that you are properly equipped. We know it's obvious but you'd be surprised at what people can turn up in! We would suggest:
Bike
Drink
Spare tube
Tyre levers
Multitool
Mobile phone
Appropriate clothing for the conditions
